A developer friend of mine tried to download the previous dev release for my system (iMac G5), but it wouldn't install right for some reason. It would hang on restart. I had to re-install from the CD and re-update everything. Even tried disabling all my hacks and startup items, but it just did it again. I believe it was the combo version (2117 I think). I'm thinking it didn't get download right or something though, because he was able to get it working on his (Intel and PPC), a friend of our's (dual G5 PowerMac), and my Mother's (Intel mini). Hoping the new one works better, but if not, at least I know how to fix it. When it works though, it's fast. Real fast.

Not only that - but the fact that there is no film in a digital camera - Kodak is a "film emulsion" company. Professionals never bought Kodak cameras or lenses. There is no "film" in a digital camera. The most natural progression would have been for Kodak to make memory cards.
Most of the R&D (and they did some great R&D in chemistry, materials and human image perception) were fundementally irrelevant to digital.
The changes that Kodak would have needed to be relevant were so huge (fire 90% of staff, change the entire core business) that I don't think there was any way they could have been succesful.
The successful camera companies today fall into one of two camps: 1. well established camera companies. 2. Consumer electronics companies.
Afga (a film emulsion company): effectively dead.
Fuji: very limited success (though they almost had their head above water for a while).
Fuji is a very good tasting Apple. Hope they don't taste this good because they have emulsion in it:-)
Didn't they join with tsu? and now make Fuji tsu scanners etc.

I first assumed the burning of luxury items was being loyal to family and tradition because the items were wicked and not traditional. I guess not.

Ask the employee about on the job horror stories. then share some of your horror stories. Once that's been settled and a few laughs have been made just ask some simple questions (how do you like working here, do you go to school, are you a psycho and etc). once you guys have a vibe goin on ask her/him if he/she is single. Then whip out your phone and get the digits.

Damn I'm thinner than uncle Steve. I should have died a long time ago:D Better pack my stuff:p
Looks like everybody wants to kill Steve, guess what? In the next keynote instead of macbooks Steve is going to announce:
"Once again I'm still a live."

It's a great Word alternative for those who don't need Excel and don't want to shell out several hundred bucks (MS Office) just to get something better than TextEdit.
At $80 for iWork and $150 for the student/teacher edition of Office, it's a bit harder to justify. Of course, if you get an academic discount, $50 for iWork is low enough that you might just pick up both. I'm waiting for Pages to become a more capable page layout app. I'm still a little worried that Apple won't stick with it.

Wow, all the critical reviews to pay or not to pay, pre installed or dl on the fly. As I see it, both have draw backs as mentioned, but my general pref, is that it should dl at least your surrounding area. So Garmin (39.99), Tom Tom (39.99), Navigon (44.99), Google (free), Motion X ($2.99) etc. for US major apps.
And yet not one sole mentions Map Quest 4 Mobile (free), dl on the fly and I have never had an outage issue.
I do prefer a stand alone gps though. Therefore I don't see spending more for a secondary gps/backup on my mobile.
And for what its worth, currently using a Garmin 265WT, with traffic. I do have some slant toward Garmin as I use a eTrex Vista. On the iPhone I have all the bold apps. I prefer the Map Quest of all the boldfaced ones.
Changing gears on subject, GPS IIF, SV-1 launched end of May 2010 and SV-2 soon, accuracy will only get better!

Why does every headline have to be a question? look at the past three headlines. It's so annoying. Rephrase the headline.

Wait, what ?
It's a fake, that is clearly a Simson or maybe a Schwalbe, but definitely not an MZ.
I have to ask GGJstudios though, he claims to know mopeds.

I just got off the phone with sale rep, and all they have is 32gb and 64gb left. When asked about the price, she said $500 for 32gb (??). I mentioned the article and she still said $500. Weird? Is there an official link to this somewhere on the verizon site, as all I can see is it bundled with mifi @ 429.99 (16gb).
My store knew about the price drop and they had the price tag on the display updated. At the bottom of the price sheet that shows the iPad2 and iPad1 prices, it showed 299/399/499 for the different models. My guess is if you buy it in store, it should ring up at the lower price.

1: I believe so.
2: Jobs, probably.
Not an iPad. Not a publicity stunt either they both have a need for a low key meeting so things between them don't get much worse to the merriment of Redmond.

I am currently deciding whether to buy a 360 Slim or a PS3 Slim. PS3 has won out for one single reason. It has an inbuilt 3D blu ray player that will be getting support for years to come. Had the 360 included a blu ray player, I would be buying it. Sorry MS.

Grrrrr, I can't decide. Looks like I'll probably get the 32GB.. 399 + $45 taxes. Anyone think $444 worth it for the older 32 or do better deals exist? I'm somewhat convinced since it is new.
I'm debating this as well. I think I'm just going to end up buying the Ipad 2 16gb for $100 more. I don't need 32gb.

This would support why Apple TV never made it in the top navigation bar on Apple.com like the other iOS devices. They'll also license AirPlay video for all receiver manufactures. Then DVD player will disappear and manufactures will sell a box like APple TV that also serves up solutions from other software companies. Changing the source will be like changing the channel - see what Apple has on, see what Google has on, see what Netflix is playing, see what's on Red Box and so on. Thoughts?

I wonder if this increase is an accurate reflection of the market. PC sales always tend to drop off hugely in the run up to a new windows release.

how many of us actually care much about aperture...?
A better question is how many people at Photokina care about Aperture, and that number must surely be quite high.

Realize that we are often targeted by PC users first. We are a minority, and as such we band together. Some of the group may go a little overboard, but you must understand that we have been persecuted for years. When the rest of the world gave up on Apple (remember that Wired cover with the Apple wrapped in barbed wire and the word "Pray"?), we stood fast and kept up our faith in a company that has delivered time and again.

I like Word for one thing: typing. I'm a writer (not trying to sound egotistical) and I hate it when an application tries to tell me how do do something TOTALLY WRONG. (And yes, I know I can turn that off.)
You don't like to be told how do do things the wrong way but you like Word?
