why even bother coming out with a white iphone for this year? Does anyone really care anymore?
Well, I think this is the best proof that we could get that there won't be a radically designed iPhone 5 this year, but an iPhone 4GS or something like that. It just doesn't seem logical that Apple would invest time and money in the production of a cellphone type that will be obsolete in less than 5 months.
Imagine the outrage when all these people buy white iPhones now, and three months later a new model is introduced (with a white option too).

nope; that was japan's propaganda to justify the attack but it's a fantasy. The embargo was in response to japanese military invasions in asia and its alliance with nazi germany. WW2 had already started in europe before the embargo against the japanese was put in place.

If I ever get an iPhone again, I will never, ever update the software until waiting a couple months and finding out if it's causing problems for people. When Apple released their 3.0 iOS, it made my iPhone 2G so laggy that it pretty much broke the phone.

Volkswagen has taken a new direction with the design of their Passat.

The engine choices remain good, especially the rare diesel option, but how are they going to shave $7000 off the base price of the Passat AND make it larger without turning it into just another Camry/Malibu/Taurus/Impala/Accord soulless bore-fest McSedan?
Volkswagen's following in the US is built on buyers looking for a more European-flavored car. Volkswagen, however, now seem intent on making their lineup more "American". This seems sure to alienate Volkswagen's core buyers in the US.

They stripped out a lot of the options that used to be standard, lowered the quality of the interior, and made a lot of other cuts in order to lower the price. That "under $16k" price they brag about has the ancient and underpowered 2.0L naturally aspirated four (used to be the 2.5L 5), a solid rear axle (used to be independent rear suspension), and rear drum brakes.
VW figured out that bigger sells better in the mid-size four door sedan market, so they bumped it up. As expected, FedEx delivered my shuffle this morning. I set mine up and noticed Apple already had a firmware update for it. Anyway, I loaded it with music and have been playing with it off and on for the past couple hours. Pretty cool little unit. I wish the spring on the clip was stronger so it would clip/bite harder, but it's not bad. I'll take it to the gym this afternoon and see how well it works.
The pictures don't do it justice. The thing is really smaller than you think it is, even looking at the pictures. So far I'm rather pleased.

Good news everyone!!! You guys remember the connecticut home invasion where Dr. William Petit, his two daughters and wife were brutally attacked in their home, and the daughters and wife were tortured, raped and murdered? Well, the trial for the second suspect is going on today, and he's probably getting the death penalty!! The first suspect, steven hayes, was already sentenced to death a few months back. CHEERS!!! :D:D:D I'm so glad connecticut is one of the sane states that has a death penalty. Unfortunately my state was the first to ban it in 2007. I would say go for a good old fashioned lynching.
I referred to this case in the human versus animal value thread when a few posters said that any human life has more value than any animal. They would save the life of either of these guys over any animal.

A cheap cash in for Apple, as the iPad simply is a pregnant iPod touch. And it lacks multitasking, java and flash.
I do not think Apple have really thought about this one. It's a half baked product, rushed out. If they had included flash, java and multitasking support, this may have been a winner, but now it just looks like an overpriced eReader.
When the rumour of a Tablet Mac was released I imagined a touchscreen iMac, not a bloated iPod touch.
